Yoga Video Sessions
Here are two types of yoga sessions. Once is a restorative session and one is a standing pose session. The restorative session calms the nervous system and soothes the mind. The standing pose session develops strength and flexibility .
There are various meditation techniques such as watching the breath, feeling body sensations, sounds around you, watching thoughts and feelings, repeating a mantra quietly or out loud, visualisation, using an object to focus on, or awareness of all that is happening around you. There are also moving meditations such as Qi Gong and Yoga. Different techniques or focusses suit different people and can also change at various times of one’s life depending on what is needed.
Here I have recorded various meditations that you can try, so that you may see what type or style of meditation suits you. Please feel free to listen.
Body Scan Meditation
The body scan is one of the most effective ways to begin a mindfulness meditation practice. The purpose is to tune in to your body—to reconnect to your physical self—and notice any sensations you're feeling without judgement.
Becoming mindful of our breathing can calm and steady our attention. It can improve our ability to focus on whatever we are doing. Strengthening our capacity to work, to study, to heal.
When we watch our breath – it is not about controlling the breath, it’s about developing awareness of the what the breath is doing. It is the awareness that is important. This is learning to focus. You are training your mind in the art of attention!
Qigong Video Sessions
Here are two types of Qigong sessions. One is a soft and gentle session for the heart and one is a more general Qigong session. The Happy Heart session calms and soothes the mind and emotions. The general session helps increase vitality and develops strength and flexibility .
Happy Heart Qigong
Heart health is one of the few places that both Western medical practitioners and Eastern medical practitioners agree: stress and anxiety are significant factors in heart issues. The more stressed out, anxious, and overwhelmed we are, the higher our risk. The easiest way to reduce our risk is to actively release stress, anxiety, and stuck or unexpressed emotions. This keeps our inner emotional state calm, relaxed, and at peace, so our heart stays healthy, nourished, and whole. This little practice can help keep our heart relaxed, healthy and happy.
Short Qigong Session
This is a gentle and general 30 minute Qigong Practice. It can be done at any time of the day. It will give you a boost of energy and calm your mind and emotions. Enjoy.
